In the last post I had myself a little rant about how My family (and maybe your family) are killing trees in one fast swoop. I.E the cloth napkin vs. paper napkin rant. In any case, there are loads of cloth napkins on the market. AND they’re at all price ranges. There is no reason ever to use paper.
Where are all the cloth napkins…
- Thrift stores.
- Department stores.
- Trendy eco-stores.
- Antique sales.
- Ask for them on your wedding (or other) registry.
- Make some.

You can score great deals at department store sales and thrift stores though. The only downside is that you may not be able to find organic.

i agree that cloth napkins are the way to go. since i was a kid my friends parents always used cloth napkins, and made their kids use them to. but living on my own i never used cloth napkins, but now i am seeing the light, and i am going to go as far as make my own since i have been sewing since i was nine. it makes since with the economic times.

Yes! Cloth napkins bought from thrift stores or made from materials already in circulation, such as an old table cloth, worn out jeans, etc. are way better than paper napkins. When I do find myself in need of a napkin and must take a paper one, I try to use it multiple times. Then I compost it so it doesn’t go to the landfill and generate methane, contributing to global warming. Maybe I should keep a cloth napkin or bandana in my purse instead?
